Facebook is continuing it’s overhaul of it’s APIs and developer platform, requiring more permissions to be reviewed manually before they can be used by end-users. An email and notification has gone out to developers informing them of new permissions that need to be reviewed by 1st August 2018 to prevent loss of functionality.

The email states:

In order to maintain your current API access, your app will need to be submitted for review by 1 August 2018. If your app is not submitted for review, you will lose access to these permissions and features.

The affected permissions are (these are in addition to the changes announced previously):

  • user_link
  • user_gender
  • user_age_range
  • user_friends
